Abstract

ABSTRACT "E-DOCUMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS IN THE ACADEMIC AND STUDENT ADMINISTRATION BUREAU (BAAK) OF DARMAJAYA INFORMATICS AND BUSINESS INSTITUTE" By: FADIL RADITYA NZ In the history of human life, science is one of the human bridges to perfection. The development of technology and information helps human work to be more effective and efficient. The storage and management of documents in the Academic and Student Administration Bureau (BAAK) of the Darmajaya Institute of Informatics and Business is still ineffective and inefficient due to the lack of an active role in technology and information in document storage and management. Documents are not only needed internally (such as lecturers and students) at the university but also for external needs, such as: Accreditation, PDPT (Higher Education Database) and L2DIKTI (Higher Education Service Institution). The academic administration activities produce a lot and accumulate documents, but in managing documents in the Academic and Student Administration Bureau (BAAK) Darmajaya Institute of Informatics and Business was still found several problems, namely: frequent loss of archives or documents, difficulties in the process of searching for archives or documents, archives or documents were stored irregularly, and checking files or documents was still done conventionally. These problems resulted in being late in making the reports, so it required a long time in the search for archives or documents, and required a lot of space for archival storage or documents. The system design used UML, the programming language used was PHP using PHP MyAdmin database. The final result of the design produces a web-based E-Document Information System at the Academic and Student Administration Bureau (BAAK) Darmajaya Informatics and Business Institute which is expected to maintain the security of data and information from unwanted dangers such as fire, flood, loss of documents and so forth, and can facilitate the search for documents by those who need it without too long a process.
