Abstract
ABSTRACT DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF A GAS MONITORING SYSTEM IN THE INTERNET OF THINGS BASED ON THE INTERNET OF THINGS By Robby Irsyain . With the existence of a final waste disposal site (TPA) there will be an impact on the environment, in addition to the positive impact of the biophysical, biotic and socio-cultural components. The negative impact is the generation of gas and waste that has the potential to damage public health in the landfill environment, both from water pollution by suspended solids and the risk of exposure to gas from the landfill for respiratory problems. Tools that can be used to collect data on the concentration level of gases released into the atmosphere at landfill need to be developed. Gases from the landfill include CO (carbon monoxide) a (CH4). From the problems above, the researchers want to make a "Design of a Gas Monitoring System at the Internet of Things-Based Ahkir Waste Disposal Site" with Arduino Nano and ESP32 as controllers. As well as in this study the gases that will be monitored are CO (carbon monoxide), Ammonia and Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S). Monitoring data can be viewed through the android application. From the results of the overall system test, it can be seen that if the MQ7 sensor readings >5 ppm, the MQ135 sensor > 100 ppm and the TGS sensor > 17 ppm, the buzzer will be active. Meanwhile, if the MQ7 sensor readings <5 ppm, the MQ135 sensor <100 ppm and the TGS sensor <17 ppm, the buzzer will not activate. From the results of the system test, it can be concluded that the sensor readings can work well in measuring gas levels in the waste .
