Abstract
Bad credit is a problem that banks often face because the customer cannot pay off his debt. If many customers are in arreas it will be detrimental to the company. This research aims to make it easier for banks to make decisions regarding extension credit and select competent new customers according to the rules and regulations that have been formed from a decision tree. The decision tree method used the C4.5 algorithm by calculating entropy, gain, split info, and gain values ratio. Results from model testing using training data from 742 new customers produced an accuracy of 99.87% and for older customers using the data training 682 produced 99.12% accuracy.
