Abstract

A large portion of the Indonesian population does not understand the proper way to brush their teeth, indicating a lack of awareness about proper oral hygiene practices. Maintaining dental health is crucial, especially for elementary school-aged children. Although Indonesia is recognized for its citizens' commitment to cleanliness, in reality, only a small number of people brush their teeth correctly. The negative consequences of improper tooth brushing can lead to dental health issues, such as dental caries. Dental caries is a common dental problem experienced by school-aged children that can interfere with their growth and development. Therefore, an appropriate educational media, specifically an illustrated book, has been designed to help children understand the importance of their dental and oral health. The designer collected data using qualitative methods to complement the report, including observations, interviews, and literature reviews. This illustrated book on oral health utilizes printed media made of colored art paper, measuring 21 x 20 cm, consisting of 11 pages for the story content, excluding the cover and other elements within the book.
