Abstract

ABSTRACT WEB-BASED INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR BOARDING SCHOOL RIYADHUS SHOLIHIN BANDAR LAMPUNG By SURYANTO 2011050076 E-mail: suryrs00@gmail.com Academic data management at Pondok Pesantren Riyadhus Sholihin Bandar Lampung is currently still done manually using Microsoft Office. This manual process causes data management to be inefficient, time consuming, and vulnerable to the risk of data loss or damage. In addition, this method also has an impact on reducing the accuracy of information and does not support the effectiveness of decision making. This research aims to develop a web-based academic information system that can improve the efficiency and reliability of academic data management. The method used is the Rational Unified Process (RUP), which consists of four stages: inception, elaboration, construction, and transition. The system was designed using the Unified Modeling Language (UML), with PHP as the programming language and MySQL as the database. The results showed that the information system developed was able to integrate the management of santri data, lesson schedules, grades, and financial reports. The system is proven to be faster, more accurate, and safer than the manual method. The implementation of this system is expected to increase the operational effectiveness of the boarding school as well as a reference for the development of similar systems in the future.
