Abstract

This research was conducted to determine how the application of student academic information systems to Muhammadiyah University students in Riau. Researchers conducted research on SIAM because there were several obstacles that were felt by students regarding SIAM such as SIAM not being able to accommodate many users at the same time, an error occurred when inputting KRS which resulted in frequent conflicting schedules, the appearance of the UMRI SIAM website was still less attractive. The purpose of this study is to analyze problems, efficiency, effectiveness and user satisfaction with the UMRI SIAM website so that it can be an input for the website developer to improve and develop the SIAM UMRI website, as well as make it easier for users to use the UMRI SIAM website. This research uses qualitative research methods, distributing questionnaires using google form digital media, with the result that the application of SIAM has advantages that make it easier for students and lecturers to take care of lecture administration, facilitate communication approving with PA lecturers, besides that SIAM also has shortcomings in terms of access that is often down if accessed by many users, has a delay in processing. The results of this study in terms of server downtime when accessed by many users, UMRI students gave suggestions to enlarge the server, perform upgrades or updates so that the process runs well. These results can be used as an answer to the difficulties often faced by students and academic managers so that data management and the availability of facilities and presentation of academic information can be more effective and efficient
