Abstract

ABSTRAK DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR SUPERIOR CLASS STUDENTS SELECTION WITH TOPSIS METHOD AT MTSN 3 NORTH LAMPUNG By SRI HANDA YANI sriyani6444@gmail.com MTSN 3 North Lampung has a total number of 617 students and there are 20 classes available, it is based in detail that class VII has 7 classrooms, class VIII has 7 classrooms, and class IX has 6 classrooms. Each class has a superior class that is VII A, VIII A, and IX A with each class having 30 students. The process of selecting students to be able to selected as students of a superior class is usually done based on the ranking of the top students, extra-curricular scores, and student attendance, however, previously the selected student process was done manually, therefore the selection of superior class became not objective and transparent. The selection of this superior class is based on a year of evaluation of the learning outcome of students, therefore students who are in the order beyond capabilities are declared not accepted. The purpose of this research is to build a web-based decision support system to simplify the selection of superior-class students. The method used in this decision making is TOPSIS (Technique For Others Reference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) which is one of the multi-criteria decision-making methods by using the principle that the chosen alternative must have the shortest distance from the positive ideal solution and the farthest from the negative ideal solution. The results of this research are a decision support system with criteria for academic, non-academic, and attendance scores that can be used as a ranking reference for students who will be selected for the superior class. Overall the process of applying the TOPSIS method is carried out on the system by adding assessment data to each criterion such as ranking, academic tests, Koranic tests, and attendance. The system provide superior class information consisting of 30 students in each class based on the ordering of the assessment results obtained.
