Abstract

Financial distress is the stage at which a company's financial position deteriorates and may lead to Bankruptcy or liquidation. The purpose of this study is to assess institutional ownershic management ownership, board size, independent board size, audit committee size, and frequency of audit committee meetings against the tinancial distress in coal mining companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BE1). This type of research is quantitative research with an causality design. The sources or data used in this study are secondary data with a purposive sampling method. The sample in this study is 15 companies during the 2017-2020 period. This study uses panel data regression analvsis with a random-erfects model, his research results that Insututional Ownership, Managerial Ownership, Independent Board of Commissioners, Audit Committee and Frequencv or Audit Committee Meetings have no eftect on tinancial distress. The size or the Board of Directors has a negative etfect on Financial Distress.
