Abstract
Advances in technology and easy access to knowledge via the internet have had a dual impact on education. One of the negative impacts that arise is plagiarism, an act of violating copyright which is prohibited in the academic world. In tertiary institutions, rules for preventing plagiarism are regulated based on the 2010 Regulation of the Minister of National Education of the Republic of Indonesia, with sanctions ranging from reprimands to cancellation of diplomas. To combat plagiarism, educational institutions and academics introduce policies and guidelines. An intelligent plagiarism detection system uses artificial intelligence technology to compare submitted works with documents in a database, helps teachers and supervisors identify academic fraud, ensures the authenticity of works, and minimizes plagiarism in student thesis of the informatics engineering study program. As well as preventing plagiarism, this system provides feedback that helps students improve their writing skills. This supports the preparation of a future professional career, where good writing skills and an awareness of plagiarism are essential. Thus, intelligent plagiarism detection systems create a more honest academic environment, improve the quality of education, and assist students in their career preparation.
