Abstract

This study proposed the development of an Android application for real time COVID-19 tracking based on contact tracing technology. The COVID-19 pandemic, which threatened public health and the global economy, increased the demand for fast and accurate information regarding the virus's spread. The application addressed the public's limited understanding of COVID-19 transmission and the lack of discipline in adhering to health protocols. The application focused on the Android platform and tracked COVID-19 cases in Indonesia using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method. RAD was chosen for its ability to accelerate the system development process, support collaboration between users and developers, and allow for iterative prototyping. The application retrieved COVID-19 data through an Application Programming Interface (API) and sent notifications to users who had physical contact with or were in the same area as, individuals who tested positive for COVID-19.
