Abstract

ABSTRACT Leadership style influenced the success of a leader affecting the behavior of subordinates. The term force is used the way leaders influence their followers. Leadership in an organization needs to develop staff and build a motivational climate that produces high levels of performance, then the leaders need to think about his leadership style. Leadership style is the norm of behavior used by someone when the person is trying to influence the behavior of others as he had seen, which aims at aligning perception among people will affect a very important position. This research conducted was to find out how "leadership style influence the performance of civil servants at the Department of Transportation in Palembang using variable motivation as an intervening variable." The sample used in this study was 165 people, while collecting research data using questionnaires, interviews, and observation. The data analysis technique in this study was a simple linear regression (simple linear regression). Based on the analysis of research data obtained it stated that leadership style significantly influenced the performance, leadership style had no effect on Motivation, Motivation no effect on performance, presence of considerable influence among the leadership style and motivation on performance, motivation was not an intervening Relationship between Leadership Style and Performance.
