Abstract
DESIGN OF WATER DISCHARGE MEASUREMENT SYSTEM AND COST WATER USAGE IN A RESIDENTIAL ENVIRONMENT BASED ON ARDUINO By: NILA KHOIRUN NISSA As the population in Indonesia increases, the water demand is also getting higher. Water is used for daily needs such as bathing, washing, cooking, etc. Clean water expenditure on community services in the Tirtasari housing area is an activity that needs to be monitored. However, monitoring still uses a manual way where an officer must go back and forth to monitor everything, and this method is inefficient. This manual monitoring has problems such as many obstacles and errors in calculating costs and water usage, requires a lot of officer labor, and can consume much time. It is known that with a system of tools that are still analog in nature, there is often fraud committed by irresponsible parties in the amount of water used. This research aimed to design a tool that can monitor water usage digitally. Digital recording is assumed to be checking water discharge and costs every month. This tool will make it easier for people to find out the amount of water usage every day and the costs that must be incurred each month. This tool has been designed using a water flow sensor to measure the discharge of water flowing into the pipe and the measurement data will be processed with an Arduino microcontroller so that the results will be displayed on the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display).
